Learning - Horse and buggy learning isn't going to cut it on the information superhighways of the 21st Century. From hard experience, most of us think
education means cramming something in, like stuffing a sausage. But the literal
meaning of education is "to draw out from." Superlearning engages all of your abilities: your whole brain, your emotions, your imagination and your body - parts of you often ignored or repressed in old style education. You can forget "no pain, no gain." Superlearning works on the chemistries of relaxation and pleasure, which among other benefits, enhance long term memory. Relaxing variations on "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" ... for all ages
Music at exactly 60 beats per minute. The music on this CD or Item was inspired by 's "Music With A Purpose" Item, that has a six minute arrangement of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" designed for adults to take them back to their childhood to explore their inner world. Because of the wonderful feedback, she extended it to an entire Item of variations designed to appeal to adults as well as children. While listening to the music, many people remember childhood stories that were joyful for them. Often the music helps re-connect adults to their playful, anixety-free childhood. A therapist working with court-ordered adolescents in trouble with the law, reported that when he played "Twinkle" in a session, he saw a change in their composure and outlook as they were able to relax and unwind. Their voices changed, their faces relaxed and they "melted" as they told stories of childhood dreams. Other children who previously were afraid of the troubled adolescents stated they now felt safe to be with them! This is one example of the remarkable power of this music. Classical Twinkle is great for babies, too. Music written at exactly 60 beats per minute helps calm babies and/or hyperactive children. Alfred Tomatis, M.D. has determined that high frequency tones are good for the brain. In this Item, a gentle tick-tock beat provides high frequency sounds to feed the brain and at the same time, the constant rhythmic pattern creates a feeling of calm. CD # 959A or Item # 959

SUPERLEARNING An Excerpt from Chapter I "We are just beginning to discover the virtually limitless capacities of the mind," says philosopher, Dr. Jean Houston. Dr. Frederic Tilney, one of France's outstanding brain specialists, declares, "We will, by conscious command, evolve cerebral centers which will permit us to use powers that we now are not even capable of imagining." We've just barely begun to realize the potential of a fully powered man or woman. That idea is becoming very vocal in the upper echelons. It's supported by people as various as theologian-scientist Teilhard de Chardin and mind-drug explorer, Dr. Timothy Leary. We've cracked the cocoon, we're being told. We can start shaking out our wings; it's time to claim our birthright. We can be so much more than we are. It's a seductive idea. And it always has been, because almost everybody has a secret, though few admit it. We feel there's something special about ourselves. Maybe it hasn't quite burst forth, maybe others don't quite see it, yet it's there. Now, it's beginning to look as if all those unrealistic, stubborn human feelings are right. We are special - or could be. If we are going to grow into these potentials, waiting, it seems just beyond reach, we have to have new routes to get there. We need to learn how to learn. That's what this book is about, learning how to learn better, faster and without stress. The kind of learning that makes you feel good while you're doing it. The open sesame learning secrets covered draw on a host of sources - from the ancient insights of Raja yoga to the latest breakthroughs of brain/mind science. They draw too from the experience of super stars: golf aces, memory whizzes, top CEOs. Various as they are, all these systems share a common viewpoint, a holistic viewpoint. They see you always as a whole person. Whether you are trying to learn French, play tennis or make a good business decision, they work on the principle that you have a logical mind, an intuitive mind, emotions, imagination, and a body. Holistic learning aims to use the full power of your being and have all parts of you working together in concert. What happens when you do get yourself together is the difference between learning and superlearninng. Discovering just how much one can do is almost unsettling, as a group of Bulgarians found when they got involved with perhaps the most striking, far-reaching learning system in this book. They heard it was a way to learn and remember vast quantities of information, quickly, effectively and, it was claimed, with less effort than any of them thought possible. These fifteen men and women, aged twenty-two to sixty, gathered in a warm, sunny room in the Institute of Suggestology standing on a shady Track street near the heart of Bulgaria's time worn capital, Sofia. "Nothing can come of this," a woman doctor complained to the architect beside her as the group arranged themselves in a circle of easy chairs. Others chimed in, an engineer, several teachers, a judge. "This is a waste of time." The teacher arrived; she too was having trouble shaking the feeling that she'd been asked to do the impossible. As the class members shuffled through pages of material, the teacher started reading French phrases in different intonations. Then stately classical music began to play in the background. The fifteen men and women leaned back, closed their eyes, and embarked on developing hypermnesia, more easily called supermemory. The teacher kept. reciting. Sometimes her voice was businesslike as if ordering work to be done, sometimes it sounded soft, whispering -then unexpectedly hard and commanding. Shadows began to darken the room. It was sunset, yet still the teacher repeated in a special rhythm French words, idioms, translations. Finally, she stopped. But they still had a test to take. At least the class members weren't as keyed up. Somehow during the session their anxiety had been smoothed, the usual kinks relaxed. But they still didn't hold much hope for decent test scores. Finally the teacher told the, "The class average is ninety-seven percent. You learned one thousand words in a day!" One thousand - they knew that was like learning almost half the working vocabulary of a language in a few hours. And they'd done it effortlessly. Men and women wheeled out of the Institute feeling ten feet taller, feeling as if they'd just had a fundamental encounter, for the extra-dimensional beings they'd met were themselves. Usually in such courses, people learn 50 to 150 new bits of information a session. This was a very special experiment. To Georgi Lozanov, MD, the originator of the method, it helped prove something he suspected: The human ability to learn and remember is virtually limitless. Lozanov and his colleagues call this "tapping the reserves of the mind." To the people who've tried, it's more like suddenly coming into a large legacy. They see themselves differently. Possibilities open up. They begin to grow into a larger notionn of who they are and what they can do. Even before Lozanov's students were coming to the unsettling realization that they could all perform like "geniuses," Hannes Lindemann, a German doctor, embarked on a different kind of feat. He bet his life on another new way to open potential. Launching his one-man sailing canoe from the Canary Island, he swung the bow of the canvas boat west; he was going to the new world. "West," Lindemann told himself, "west." The command even echoed and took form in his dreams. For seventy-two days and nights, he sailed on, sitting upright, like lonely pea in his canvas shell..... Sound Therapy for the Walk Man
...We seem to think that the ear is dispensable. We concenttrate overwhelmingly on what is visual. Everything that we cultivate or build impresses through the eyes, by size, color and shape. We ignore the miracle of the ear, which conveys its message through a greater abstraction than sound. Sound goes directly into our bodies. What the aural can do to the inside of our brain, tothe "within" of our lives, nothing else can do. The use of the higher vibrations, as described in this book, open a whole new world to us.Sound Therapy has a specific effect which seems to have wide implications and to yield undreamed of results. I believe that it constitutes a breakthrough to a new level of effectiveness in music and health. Sound Therapy Book # 640

For almost a hundred years now, scientists particularly in Russia, the UK and the US have explored the intriguing possibilities of these subtle suggestions. And, as is just becoming public, so have the would be mind manipulators in the worlds covert agencies. Done properly, in controlled laboratory conditions, subliminal suggestion has been proven to work. Subliminal information can channel to you through the sense of sight, hearing, smell - even touch in experiments involving subliminal electric shock. Since the 30s, the Soviet worked to develop conditioned reflexes subliminally. They did. Subliminal suggestion can influence your heartbeat, brain waves, your basic drives like hunger and work best when tied to emotional drives. For an excellent overview of more than half a century of scientific subliminal research see Dr. Norman Dixons book Preconscious Processing (Wiley, 1981). The late Dr. Lloyd Silverman of New York University long the leading US subliminal investigator came up with a special suggestion that he found, among many other things, boosted learning. Following Silvermans lead, Dr. Kenneth Parker asked his business law students at Queens College, NY if theyd like to earn an extra credit by taking part in a subliminal experiment. They would. Three times a week during the semester, Parkers students looked through a tachistoscope - a light device. All they saw was a bright flash of light. It was too quick to catch the suggestive message embedded in it. Their professor adamantly refused to reveal the message even after finals. He waited a month to check long term retention. Parker found his law students got the secret message in more ways than one. They remembered more of what they learned than a control group. They also scored ten grade points higher for the course. A nice surpass, but nothing compared with the shock students go when Parker revealed the message their deep minds had embraced: "Mommy and I are one." Embarrassing, preposterous - maybe, but ever since Silverman conjured her thirty years ago, Mommy has been trotting through scientific literature helping out in all kinds of ways. To discover what else Mommy can do, and for an in-depth discussion of worldwide subliminal discoveries see Supermemory: the Revolution by Ostrander & Schroeder. For a shorter account and some make-them-yourself instruction check Superlearning 2000. For Parkers protocol see "Effects of sub-liminal symbiotic stimulation on academic performance." Journal of Counseling Psychology, Vol. 29 (1). Well crafted, targeted subliminal suggestion does work in the lab. What about mass produced suggestions on commercial tapes? Some people find them highly effective, even transformative. Other do not. It might be worth finding out for yourself. For Resources Now: CD's, Tapes & Software,

Yourself, Superlearning subliminals; TOP LINKS "Students learned Spanish three times faster than before and without stress." A wave of academic exploration into accelerated language learning was set off by the above findings by psychologist Dr. Donald Schuster of the State University of Iowa at Ames. Schuster, who co-founded the professional Society for Accelerative Learning & Teaching (SALT) and edited their Journal, put Superlearning to the test.. The system worked for Spanish, German, French. Schuster found it also worked for computer languages. He used the new way of learning to teach Pascal to a class full of 100 students. At semester's end, they scored slightly higher than three groups learning the usual ways - and they did it in half the class hours. Dr. Jane Bancroft, another Superlearning pioneer, introduced the new way to her classes at the University of Toronto. Students crowded around at the end of the term. "Thank you, my asthma has gone away." "Your class has helped me stop fighting with my parents." "You've cured my headaches...my insomnia... my allergies." Nice, but Bancroft was bemused. She wasn't teaching psych; she was teaching French 101. (Tests showed learning and memory accelerated too.) Bancroft got an up close demo of the wonders of built-in stress release. For two decades now, people around the world have been picking up languages the accelerated way. Canadian Naval Commander Charles Croucher summed up some typical results. He and his wife, both language specialists, used Superlearning on their own to get a grip on Japanese. They reported in the prestigious British Journal Incorporated Linguist "We were able to absorb a minimum of twenty to twenty five simple Japanese phrases a day without stress. Studying half an hour every weekday, one could gain the basics of Japanese or any language in two months. Unlike other methods known for quick learning and just as quick forgetting, tests proved a high level of retention." For the basics of language training see the book Superlearning. For current developments and creative adaptations gleaned from around the world see Superlearning 2000. Superlearning's basic courses can give you a jump start in language learning. Audi has saved time and money for years using Superlearning techniques to teach robotics, electronics, welding methods. Savings come too from fewer sick days, Jaehrling says, from the relief of "angst and stress" built into the new way of learning. In Germany, prospering training companies have developed to bring the accelerated methods into blue chip companies like IBM and Siemens, to unions and government. Technical innovations are becoming like the fabled dragons teeth. Get hold of one and ten more pop up. How do you retrain workers, particularly older ones whove had a long time to get used to established ways of doing and learning? Superlearning, was the answer for C.L. Hallmark of AT&Ts National Product Training Center. He had to make employees letter perfect in handling something new and difficult: complex control boards full of alarms that light up if a phone system goes wrong. "Information must be ingrained in the workers minds to allow prompt response to trouble," Hallmark says. Superlearning saw to the ingraining. Hallmarks team found it "Well adapted to our needs for training in a push button world." And, they added, older workers found the built-in stress relief a real plus. Hallmark liked the system so well hes had an excellent demo of Superlearning technical training - complete with music, mind calming scenes from nature, paced delivery of data - on the world wide web for almost two years via an AT&T homepage. "From here on, lifelong learning is the name of the game." "The career wise will have to learn how to continually re-invent and re-educate themselves." Thats the reason many individuals learning how to learn on their own and equipping themselves with Superlearning techniques. . When teacher Charles Gritton first tried the system in a Des Moines ghetto school, failing kids learned they werent failures after all. Suddenly math made sense and tests were passed with ease. Attendance soared, trouble makers sent to the hall pressed their ears to the door not to miss anything. Pioneering teachers like Gritton may have arrived just in the nick of time. Horse and buggy learning isnt going to cut it on the superhighways of the next millennium. Children are the real 21st century citizens among us. They most need to learn how to learn. They need to be equipped with techniques to help them navigate a fast shifting world and job market. They need the know-how to tackle new things with confidence. Most of all they need that spark of joy that makes lifelong learning an adventure. Dr. Rosella Wallace introduced Superlearning with its
special music, rhythmic presentation, guided imagery and relaxation ploys to her third
graders in Anchor Point, Alaska. "I saw a tremendous improvement in my class,"
Wallace says, "in development of thought, concentration, and memory." Walter Deehring CEO of a top marketing firm decided to see if Superlearning could help turn around his 12 year old daughter. She loathed school and not surprisingly had a F/D grade average. Father and daughter worked together for two 30 minute sessions a day. Deehring began with Superlearning relaxation exercises. Next he trained his girl in visualization and full sensed imagining. For school subjects like arithmetic and geography, he used the Special Superlearning Music and rhythmic pacing of material. Within two months, his daughter's grades rose to a C average and kept on going to Bs and As. Says Deehring, "Superlearning is what opened my daughter's potential. If our children are going to flourish in a global economy, they need to know the techniques of global learning." In Atlanta, Dr. Allyn Prichard took on a class of kids who just couldnt read, kids about to end up on societys discard heap. "With this new way of learning, youll be able to read," he told his doubting students." "Youll be learning to use your imagination just the way the Brave and Dolphins do in mental sports training." Prichards startled students picked up a years worth of reading in twelve weeks. This four times speed-up held steady for classes over ten years. These are just three of hundreds of documented success stories of Superlearning in grammar and high school. There are even more "undocumented" accounts by parents like Deehring and grandparents helping their own kids with at least some of the Superlearning ideas. He wasn't talking to his doctor. He was consulting a composer - no less than Johann Sebastian Bach. "As you know," the man went on, "I have to be alert in my work." Bach composed some special music and dispatched a harpsichordist to play it nightly for the harried insomniac. Soon he was snoring. The grateful snoozer, Russian envoy Count Kayserling, paid Bach a handsome sum for his magic music. Bach named the piece for the late night harpsichordist, Johann Goldberg - and thats how the famous Goldberg Variations got its name. He found certain high frequencies energize the brain, brighten creativity - and are remarkably successful in curing learning disabilities like dyslexia and autism. Hes just one of the scientists journeying into the interior land of sound. Another pioneer is Hoffman RN and music therapist. Her "rhythmic medicine" is helping people control and overcome physical and emotional ills. CD-ROM "You'll go
faster," one reaercher remarked, "if you take your foot off
the accelerator."
You'll accelerate a lot more than learning if you know how to let go of stress and
relax when you want to, where you want to.
Stress can blank out memory.
Princess Diana surely worked hard to get herself ready to remember all the minutia of
protocol for her "wedding of the century." All went swimmingly. Finally, the
high point of the ceremony arrived. The hundreds crowding Westminster Abbey hushed as
Diana turned toward Prince Charles. And plighted her troth to "Phillip." Stress can also
lower IQ by up to 10 points - even in grammar school children according to a classic study
at Georgetown University. Training in stress reduction has almost universally shown to
enhance performance in the learning disabled, the gifted, and everyone in between. The Addiction
Research Foundation of Ontario ran a fine comb test of the stress releasing techniques of
Superlearning colleague, Eli Bay, founder of Relaxation Response Ltd. They checked
everything they could - from coffee consumption to job performance to hostility towards
mate - concerning 170 big city white collar workers. After 15 hours of
relaxation training, the vast majority moved to healthier norms across the board. The
scientists reported, "Relaxation appears to be the key that provides access to a
variety of other changes... its a leaven of well being that activates ones
ability to break out of vicious cycles ...and permits some measure of self-reintegration
at a happier, healthier level." Superlearning has stress
reduction built-in. Its this two for one that so attracts businesses. Dr. Dieter
Jaehrling, lead trainer for Audi in Germany remakes that beyond the gains of accelerated
training, Superlearnings release of stress can save industry millions in fewer sick
days and less alcoholism. Superlearning Music lowers
stress automatically. So do other SL techniques like mind calming, guided imagery, and
physical routines. One of the best is autogenics - literally self birthing - a long proven
method devised by a German MD. With practice, autogenics has led people to nose dive down
Alpine ski runs aplomb, to cross the Atlantic in a sailing canoe - and most extraordinary,
it brings practitioners lower health insurance rates in Switzerland. You can find a full
autogenic program used by Russian cosmonauts in both Superlearning books. Whatever method you choose, if
you can relax your body and mind at will youll learn better, perform better - and
way beyond that, youll live a healthier, happier and probably longer life. For Resources Now: Relax to Learn

Super Relief Oxygen For MindBody Power Breakthrough: Turbocharges Brainpower; Which sound frequencies open up
mega brainpower? Dr. Tomatis pinpointed ultra-high frequencies from 5000 Hz to 8000 Hz as
the window frequencies that would heal and re-balance mind/body. During his lifelong
pioneering work to develop Sound Therapy, he also invented the "Electronic Ear"
- a device that improves hearing and brain function so that you get the maximum benefit
from high-frequency sounds. At his 180 Sound Therapy centers worldwide, thousands have
been healed of a whole range of illnesses including learning disabilities, dyslexia,
attention deficit disorder and even autism. Sound Therapy For The Walkman Users claim
almost unbelievable results: "became a professional artist;" "changed from
retarded to bright;" "feel great on much less sleep;" "overcame
tinnitus;" "cured dyslexia." Cassettes The original Sound Therapy program as
described in Patricia Joudry's book Sound Therapy for the Walkman,
features classical music recorded in real time through Dr. Tomatis' "Electronic
Ear." The "rocking effect" of hearing high frequency sounds first in
one ear, then the other, exercises the inner ear and is designed to open up the full range
of our inborn frequency perception. Once an "auditory opening" is
experienced, says Dr. Tomatis, it produces beneficial effects on every aspect of the
being. Note: It is highly recommended that you inform yourself about Joudry's sound therapy
before purchasing the converter or the tapes. See Superlearning 2000, SuperMemory - or
Joudry's Sound Therapy for the Walkman. Joudry's book provides simplified
instructions for using Sound Therapy as a self-help system in your own home without the
therapeutic oversight of the Tomatis clinics. Reports from families: More information available. Please contact Jack Crisp, A.A., B.S. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
